We'll be in the air-conditioned Town Houses that are still standing after one of our previous reunions there. But the official "Class Lounge" is nearby in the Hendrickson House with the added amenity of a canopied driveway. I overheard someone say we would have to have rocks in our head to lounge there. They may be right since I'm in charge.

Let's consider now those famous Minnesota bugs.  Some summers, they're not too bad.  Other summers, it's mostly biting flies or yellow jacket hornets. And Lyman Lakes has always been a natural breeding ground for the Minnesota state bird, the common mosquito.

What attracts all these insects better than honey on a stick?  SAGA on a plate, that's what. So a good swatter may be the best weekend tool you can pack. We haven't checked, but maybe the Sharper Image or that Brookstone mall store that went out of business has a pocket portable electronic swatter that folds like a Swiss Army knife and has a wafer battery inside it to power the 1000 MHz oscillator that is supposed to drive insects away not to mention sanitize anything within 50 meters. Something worth looking into, anyway.

While we're on the subject, sunscreen would be a good idea to tote along with some good non-deet bug repellant. To deet or not to deet, that may be the question.
